MOSCOW, Idaho -- Washington State University track and field competitors won four events Friday night during the 36th Annual Vandal Indoor at the Kibbie-ASUI Activity Center in Moscow.
Senior Joe Bartlett (Reno) won the shot put with a lifetime-best distance of 58-feet, 1/4 inch (17.68m). Earlier in the day Bartlett threw the discus 164-5 (50.11m) for third place.
Brett Blanshan (junior, Selah, Wash.) won the 200m dash with a PR time of 21.71 seconds with Rashaun Johnson (sophomore, West Seattle) finishing second with a PR time of 21.82.
Cougar freshman Aric Walden (Newport, Wash.) won the men's 60m hurdles with a PR time of 8.14 with teammate Josiah Sims taking third with a PR time of 8.32 and Garrett Gerling fourth in a time of 8.33, just off his PR time of 8.32.
For the Cougar women, Cindy Robinson (junior, Norwalk, Calif.) ran a PR time of 24.51 to win the 200m dash. Morgan Clem took fourth in the same race with a PR time of 25.24, and Holly DeHart finished fifth in a PR time of 25.69.
Shaquana Logan (junior, Tacoma) was the top collegiate in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.58, after Vandal assistant coach and Canadian Olympian Angela Whyte's winning time of 8.02.
Cassie Whitfield (senior, Spanaway, Wash.) was the runner-up in the 20-pound weight throw, tossing a season-best distance of 55-2 (16.81m).
The Cougars will compete Saturday in the Runners Soul Open meet also at the Kibbie-ASUI Activity Center.
