AUSTIN, Texas -- Washington State All-American Marissa Tschida won the women's A Section javelin Saturday at the 84th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.

Tschida, a senior from Missoula, Mont., won the javelin with a throw of 173-feet, 3 inches (52.80m) while Courtney Kirkwood finished fourth after throwing 160-9 (49.00m). Tschida's mark was 3 1/2 feet below her season-best javelin throw.

"I love the Texas Relays," Tschida said. "It is my favorite meet of the year. The atmosphere, the competition and the weather are always great. Winning here feels amazing, and winning against this level of competition makes it so much more of an accomplishment."

Jeshua Anderson was not able to capture his fourth consecutive Texas Relays 400m hurdles title, finishing third with a final time of 50.41 seconds. A pair of upperclassmen from Texas Tech, Bryce Brown and Jamele Mason, placed first and second respectively in times of 50.08 and 50.30.

The WSU men's 4x400m relay squad of Brandon Dawson, Jacob Sealby, Anderson and Nate Washington finished seventh in the C. Price Jr. University race, running a time of 3 minutes, 11.95 seconds.
