Pole Vaulters Reach Season-best Heights at UW Invitational

SEATTLE -- Five of the six Washington State pole vaulters reached season-best marks Friday night at the University of Washington Invitational Indoor Track & Field meet first day at the Dempsey Indoor Facility.

In the women's vault, Cougar junior Hilary Moore (Prosser) cleared 11-feet, 11 3/4 inches (3.65m), while Carly Fitzpatrick (redshirt sophomore, Sumner) and freshman Kelsey Bueno (Kent) both cleared lifetime-best heights of 11-7 3/4 (3.55m).

John Brenteson (redshirt freshman, Vancouver) reached a season-best height of 15-9 (4.80m). Jake Baertlein (junior, Portland) cleared 15-5 (4.70m), just under his opening weekend mark of 15-11 3/4. Freshman Curtis Flolid (Woodinville) vaulted over the bar at a PR of 15-1 (4.60m)

The pole vault events were the only ones where Cougars competed Friday night. The UW Invitational meet continues Saturday, Jan. 29.
